He ran.
He ran so fast and so hard that his vision blurred. His heart was thudding so loud he could hear it.
The prey was petrified.
He took a quick left into a side alley, and stumbled a little.
He stopped. Breathing heavily, he leaned against the alley wall to support his aching legs. Suddenly he heard me.
He knew it.
The Prey was about to die.
Soon.
"About time you gave up."
I spoke in a deep, smooth voice that was as cold as ice.
"This game was getting boring. Boring boring boring boring boring."
His heart was beating so fast, he thought it would burst out of his ribs.
"W-what do you want?!" He stuttered.
"Scared? You should be."
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!' He half-shouted.
"Now, now! No need to shout!" I replied in a bored tone. "You work for a large drug company, don't you? That not very good, is it? Not very nice."
He stared.
"You see, the people you work for have become a teensy bit of a problem for the people I work for. Now you see the problem here, don't you!"
I slinked closer until I was directly in front of my prey's face. I could see my dark differently coloured eyes reflected in his terrified ones. This was going to be fun!
Without any warning, I grabbed his neck and held him up against the wall.
He whimpered and started to mutter shakily.
"Praying? So you believe in some sort of God do you?" I started to laugh. "By the time I finish with you, you wont
I promise." I giggled. "But I think you will believe in demons!"
I threw him down onto the ground hard enough to break his arm. It broke.
He screamed and tried to crawl away, but without any luck.
I grabbed his leg and dragged him back to me. I flipped him over so he was looking up at me. I grinned, showing him all my pointed teeth. I reached down and, with my claw-like hands, ripped out his eyes. A blood-curdling scream ripped from his throat. Warm blood oozed down my forearm and I licked it.
"No-one can hear you~!" I said in a singsong voice. "They don't fucking care about you, you see. Not even your so called 'God!'"
He whimpered as I bent down it whisper something into his ear. "The names' Gray. " I said in a dead tone.
I ripped off his ear with my shark-like teeth. The sight of the raw cartilage and globs of flesh pleased me. Stepping back a little, I tore off his broken arm and threw it aside. It landed with a meaty smack some meters away into the darkness of the alley. Over ahead I heard a crow caw.
The Prey had started to die and was drifting in and out of conciseness. Damn, what a weak person. This wasn't as much fun as expected, I thought I could drag this out for at least a couple of hours at least. I ripped of his fingers as I pondered this. The snapping of bones and tearing of muscle was like music to my ears.
Tossing the fingers to the flock of crows that had now gathered at the arm, I stood up. Glancing down at the now dead Prey, I crushed his skull with my foot. Ha. That would keep the police and townspeople occupied for a couple of years to come.
"Ugh, now I'm bored again. What a pain." I flicked my long black hair out of my eyes.
My cell phone buzzed in my jeans pocket. The caller-ID read as Daniel. I flipped open my cell and pressed the green answer button..
"What is it Dan?" I sighed.
"Did you kill him?" A raspy voice answered through the speaker.
"What do you bloody think?"
"Ah, well, err, good job then G." He said.
He hung up.
They were scared of me, they all were: The people who had hired me. My eyes, my teeth, my personality, my blood lust scared them. I enjoyed that.
I sighed. I suppose I should head back to HQ. I glanced at the time displayed on my phone's glowing blue screen. Three Forty-One AM.
Shoving my cell in my jeans back pocket, I ran to the wall and easily ran up it. It was a 10-storey building but that wasn't any trouble for a demon like me. My long black leather coat trailed behind me, flapping in the wind.
Reaching the top of the building, I looked at my surroundings. I was in the outskirts of the City and I could see the lights in the distance. I retraced my steps over the rooftops; gracefully springing from one to the other towards the HQ of the people I worked for. Their organization is quite large, unsurprisingly for quite a large city.
But they were getting boring for me. It was just the same old routine: Kill him, kill her
nothing interesting at all. Sure, it was fun at first, but I liked a game, a chase and struggle. All the prey I killed was weak, stupid and didn't put up a fight at all!
I sighed. I needed a new game to amuse me for a while. Something fun. Raiding a demon nest would be all right
nah, that wouldn't keep me occupied for long. Then I had a great idea
Picking up my pace, I leaped from rooftop to rooftop with a quicker pace. I laughed as I thought of my plan.
The HQ was located at the back of a dim, dark bar. A couple of drunks sat in a corner, staring into their bottles, as if trying to find a reason for living. Ha. They wouldn't find one.
Nodding to the barman, I walked behind the bar to a door, which led to the HQ. I kicked a rat out of the way as I walked down the dim corridor. Stupid animal.
I opened the grimy door, which led to the Boss's office. It contained a small desk, a computer and a fat, balding, middle-aged man smoking a cigar. This was Dan, the Boss.
He jumped as I entered. Ooh, this will be good.
"Uuh.. H-hey G!" Dan said nervously, "Ready for your next assignment?"
I smiled. "No, actually." I slinked closer to Dan, a Cheshire-like grin on my lips. He leaned back. I was a little too close. I bent a whispered in his ear. "I'm here for a little fun!"
I jumped onto his desk, catlike. Then I sprung off it onto the wall behind the Prey. He didn't have time to react as I kicked him forward headfirst onto his desk. I pounced off the wall and jumped on his skull- crushing it instantly. Heh heh.
I took of my leather coat. Now the fun would begin.
I killed all of the other gang members that were within the building. I wasn't planning on wiping out the whole organization. I wanted to anger them. So that they would come after me, chase me, hunt me. Not that they, or any other gangs would succeed. After all: It was only a game to ease my boredom.
Into the darkness,
I ran.
END.
